There comes a time when you know something has to change in your life. You may have made a New Year resolution vowing to turn over a new leaf.
Maybe 2018 is the year you plan to become a better husband/wife, break that bad cycle, cast off fear and inaction or simply take your life to the next level. You may manage to do this for a little while but before long you inevitably revert to your old habits.
I have been there trust me. I couldn’t count the number of times I have apologized to my family for being impatient with them and more.
It is possible to experience transformation that sets you on a new path in your life.
But here is the truth. For us to experience a genuine and lasting change we need to do something different. We need to stop scratching the surface and deal with the inner person. But we cannot do it by ourselves. It’s only when we allow in-dept work by the the Holy spirit that true transformation occurs.
Jacob was a man who had reached a crisis point just like we all find ourselves at one point or another.
He was considered a wealthy and prosperous man in his time yet he was desperate for a life changing encounter with God. He knew that to shed off his old self and find peace with himself and man, he needed a deep work in his life.
His story is extraordinary. Nowhere else in the bible do we read about a wrestling match between God and man. He resolved to seek, cling and wrestle with God until his life was deeply touched and transformed.
At the beginning of the year I set up a spiritual goal to pursue God’s presence like I’ve never done before. God’s presence is the source of our life and the key to eternal transformation. Simply put in Him is everything we need.
‘You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore’. – Psalms 16:11 Amp
I’d like to invite you to join me as we explore and dig deeper into this exciting and life changing topic.
Apart from Jacob the bible is packed with fascinating stories of other men and women who were never the same after their encounter with God’s presence.
If like me you want to see and experience more in your spiritual life please join me on the Pursuit of God’s Presence Series.
